To be honest, I'm not sure on the permit requirements for Maralinga these days, I believe you have to have a "guide" in tow and no permit allows you access from the ABH. Google is your friend. I hope you get out there somewhere soon. I first heard about it watching one of Ronny Dahl's videos. Sadly the Maralinga to Emu road is closed as visiting Maralinga is a priority on my bucket list. Yep, the CSR was well flooded in ...Thanks Snatchem. Yep, the CSR was well flooded in 2018, but a large diversion was in place, adding many Km's to the journey and missing wells 25-31 IIRC. For that matter, the Western edge of the Great Victoria Desert also suffered from some rain events in Jan/Feb 2018. I went through in April 18 and it was dry(see mowing the spackman - April 2018)but there was some track damage done. 2019 has been a low rainfall event year, so at this point in time, both should be good to go. I was on Dobbo at the time, yes. I am not no more. I need to update my Dobbo post (keeping your cool). In a nutshell, I just suffered too many failures and the agent and Dobbo themselves are not interested anymore. I contacted them in November, letting them know I have failed front struts again, and I have heard nothing back from them - some 3 months later. I have moved onto Lovells/Bilstein. I Carried a spare set of rear shocks for the journey. Carrying spare front struts is not really practical. Unfortunately, there is no preferred channel on the ABH, unlike the CSR. Having a vehicle rounding a bend at high speed with a trailer on and putting me into the spinny to avoid a head on drew my ire and I make not of that in the writeup. The worst part is I knew 2 days ago he was coming. It grates me that a head on could have been well avoided had their been a dedicated channel, as on the CSR. Dedicated channels work extremely well - if everybody adheres to the protocol. As I said, this is not the country to be having medical emergencies.sharkcaverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02720991759240408915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1319658259015421304.post-9872318622904090272019-02-06T10:57:17.019+08:002019-02-06T10:57:17.019+08:00Well done Sharkeaver. Bom historical data shows Warburton (closest station I can find) has an average maximum of 37.9 degrees and it is in fact the hottest month out there. Each to their own, but I'll stick to the South Coast that time of year.sharkcaverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02720991759240408915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1319658259015421304.post-65299868126278173632017-05-09T16:39:58.402+08:002017-05-09T16:39:58.402+08:00What a great trip can you tell me what time of the...What a great trip can you tell me what time of the year you traveled the Anne Beadell me and the wife would like to do it but we only get January off.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15273729908754723302noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1319658259015421304.post-20593925521445156032017-05-08T20:26:11.981+08:002017-05-08T20:26:11.981+08:00Wow, how awesome to hear from you mate.
